Welcome to Cannie Wind Farm

A new wind farm project in Australia

The Project

Welcome to the home page of the Cannie Wind Farm.

The proposed location for the Project is approximately 25 kilometres west of the township of Kerang, in North-West Victoria. The wind farm will include up to 59 wind turbines and produce up to 400MW of electricity.

In mid 2024 RES submitted a referral for the Project, to the Minister for Planning under the Victorian Environment Effects Act (1978). The Minister has determined that an Environment Effects Statement (EES) is required for the development of the wind farm and transmission line connection to the proposed VNI-West.

The Department of Transport and Planning have released draft EES scoping requirements for public consultation. Go to the EES tab for more information.

We intend to submit a planning application for the Cannie Wind Farm Project in 2027. The Project will commence construction in 2029, pending planning approval and the construction of the Victoria - NSW Interconnector West (VNI West) transmission project.
